Felipe Segovia Sanhueza
ABOUT
Felipe Segovia Sanhueza (he/him) is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, music director and choral conductor born and raised in Chile and currently based in New York, with a focus on bringing new Spanish-language work and Chilean stories to the biggest theatre and concert stages.
He’s best known for his work in musical theater, featured both in Chile and New York City, including “Talcahuano, el musical” (2024 Premios Carmen Awards for Best Original Book), “Café con Leche” (2026 Barn on Fire Residency; 2024 Theatre Barn Records Developmental EP), “MISTRAL: A Spanish-English Musical” (2026 The Johnny Mercer Writers Grove; 2026 NMTC Semifinalist) and “Make it A Double (Take)” (2025 Musical Theater Lab).
Outside the musical theater world, he has composed for dance, opera, and the concert stage. His most notable work include his choral piece ”Recuerdo” (winner of the 2025 New Music for New York by the Manhattan Choral Ensemble) and the short opera “Make Room” (2026 AOP-NYU/TISCH Opera Lab).
