ABOUT

Felipe Segovia Sanhueza (he/him) is a composer, orchestrator, music director and choral conductor born and raised in Chile and currently based in New York, with a focus on bringing new Spanish-language work and Chilean/Latin American stories to the biggest theatre and concert stages.

He’s best known for his work in musical theater, including Talcahuano, el musical (Music, Lyrics and Orchestrations; Book and Lyrics by Valeria Peña), premiered in Santiago, Chile in 2023; and Café con Leche: A New Musical (Arrangements and Orchestrations; Book, Lyrics and Music by Maiga Vidal). Most recently, he is working on MISTRAL (Music and Orchestrations; Book, Lyrics and Translations by Maiga Vidal), a Spanish-English bilingual musical about the Chilean poet and first Latin American to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, Gabriela Mistral.


Outside of the theater world, Felipe’s interest lies in bringing drama and music together to the concert stage. His original choral piece Recuerdo was the winner of the New Music for New York 2025 competition by the Manhattan Choral Ensemble and received its World Premiere at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in 2025.
